トゥメー・インと乙女の語源、探し求める人と相手

　「tu-me'＝トゥメー」インに含まれている

「me'」は「一緒に」なりたい状態を表す言葉

と推測されます。結婚相手を「探す、探し求

める」事を名護方言ではトゥ・メー・インと言

います。女性を表す言葉には「ma＝マ」行音を

含む言葉が多いです。「oto-me＝乙女」や女や

老女を表す「o-mi-na＝おみな」にも花の種類

の「o-mi-ma-esi＝女郎花」にも「ma」行音が

含まれています。
