やたらの語源、他の物に比べてずっと大きいが否定的表現

「大は小を兼ねる」と言う表現と
「うどの大木」と言う表現があります。
独活の大木に、似た表現が「y-atara＝
やたら」に「大きい」でしょう。否定
的表現である事は「ata’ru」の語尾が
否定の「a」に変化している、事でも
分かります。「矢鱈」の後に来る言葉
は「難しい、忙しい」など許容限度を
「越えている」状態を表す事が分かり
ます。
