ススキの語源 、一番高くなる草、遠くからでも目立つ草

ススキの語源は「スクスク」伸びるから
だろうと言う説があるそうです。その説が
正しいと推測されます。人であろうと植物
であろうと「非常に高くて目立つ」状態を
表す言葉が、「shaqu＝最高」の変化形の
「shushqu＝susuqi＝ススキ」である事が
分かります。地面を「這う」草は「這い＝
ハイ」が付きます。 「草」の中で「一番
高く目立つ」草がススキでしょう。
